Cameroon wins 2019 Women's African Championship

Cameroon’s women volleyball team once again realized its 2017 feat by winning, on July 14, 2019, the 19th edition of African volleyball championship organized in Cairo, Egypt.
In the final tournament, the Lionesses won 3 sets by 2 for the Kenyan national team. The same nine-times African champions -Kenyan team- was defeated by Cameroon during the finals in 2017 in Yaoundé.
The Women’s volleyball thus saves the 2019 campaign of Cameroon’s national sports teams after the football team’s defeat at the round of sixteen of AFCON2019.
The Women’s football team also bowed out at the round of sixteen during the Women’s world cup organised in France.
Immediately after the victory, the girls flew to Yaounde where they were received by Cameroon's Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.
The next task for the girls will be at the Women's World Volleyball Championship that be hosted by Japan from the 14th to the 29 September 2019.
