The four pillars of the Social and Management Sciences of the University of Buea have organised an entrepreneurial seminar today June 15, 2019 at the Amphitheatre 600 in the university campus.
The seminar organised by the Associations of Accounting, Economics, Management and Banking and Finance in partnership with Afrik Vision Consulting Ltd had as theme; "Entrepreneurship as a Catalyst for Job Creation". It aimed at empowering students with entrepreneurial skills neccessary for job creation.
The main speaker, Mrs. Momenyi Mirabel educated the students on the journey of an entrepreneur, as she expantiated more on her life story as an entrepreneur.
The motivational speaker emphasised on points like self acceptance, decision taking, service and truth in becoming an entrepreneur. She called on the students to change their mindset and believe in their innerself.
Mr. Amungwa Gerald in his part highlighted on networking strategies in the Business world. He emphasised on the networking strategies by Linda Cathelan.
" Your success does not only depend on your academic credentials but on who you know. The second speaker insisted. And concluded that networking is very important in the career of a student's life.
The last speaker, Dr. Job Otumunde, differentiated between work experience, internship and placement told the students they need three of these when searching for a job.
However, the participants of this seminar were impressed and satisfied from the knowledge they acquired from the different speakers.
