SONARA Suspends Operations After Fire Outbreak

   The lone Refinery company SONARA has suspended it's activities due to the fire incident that broke out on the night of Friday breaking Saturday June 1st, 2019.
   According to reports, loud explosions were heard in Limbe at about 9:30pm in the night of Friday 31st May, 2019. This explosions were said to have come out from a tank at the National Oil Refinery, which caught fire.
   However, some infrastructure at the headquarters of the National Oil Refinery company, SONARA in Limbe, South West Region was reduced to ashes . But the National fire- brigade intervened and finally quenched the flames.
   Officials of the National Refining company immediately held a crisis meeting that was sanctions by a declaration of "Force Majeure" destined to all it's partners.
   Nevertheless, the Director General of SONARA, Jean Paul Njounou indicated that the fire incident resulted in material damages and suspension of production in all units to be determined.
   Jean Paul Simon Njounou who has been General Manager of SONARA since January 14, 2019 has assured partners that the company will resume production as soon as possible.
   Meanwhile, the minister of Water and Energy Resources Gaston Eloundou Essomba arrived Limbe this morning to assess the damage caused by the fire outbreak.
