#Letdialoguelead Campaign Launch at the University of Buea

The Movement for Democracy, Development and Transparency (MDDT) and National Endowment for Democracy (NED) launched the #Letdialoguelead campaign today Wednesday May 29, 2019 at the University of Buea, South West Region of Cameroon.
The campaign which took place at Amphi 150C of the school campus aims at engaging youths as advocates for dialogue and into non-violent action. It also aims at calling for a ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to the Anglophone crisis.
Speaking at the campaign, professor Gratien Amtimogbe expantiated on the topic; " Non- violent action and leading for Non-violent youth in non- violent university sector".
Prof. Gratien urged the students of the University of Buea and the youths in Cameroon to engage into non-violent action that will preserve democratic practices and reduce genocide.
"Non-violent action does not need a charismatic leader like Ghandi or Martin Luther King, Be the Ghandi, Be the Martin Luther, he insisted. He added that your life begin to end the day you stay silent about the things that matter.
However, the campaign was spiced up with peace melodies by the UB choir, UB FHS choir and St. Cecilia choir. The activity that kept the participants overwhelmed was  the public speaking competition  that had as winner, Tibi Chelsea, a public speaker and student  journalist of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Nevertheless, as peace does not go without the word love, so is dialogue needed to end the Anglophone crisis. The youths are adding their voices to that of activists and lovers of peace to say #Letdialoguelead.
