US Says Separation Not Realistic Option to Solve Anglophone Crisis

US assistant secretary of State in charge of African Affairs, Tibor Nagy said Separation isn't possible as an independent Ambazonia breakaway state is not a realistic option to solve the Anglophone crisis.
Tibor Nagy was speaking before the US Congress Foreign Affairs Committee on Thursday May 16, 2019. He rather emphasised on the fact that the government of Cameroon should open a broad based dialogue.
Again, while responding to a question asked by the committee's chairperson on the possibility of separation as a solution, Ambassador Nagy said; "I do not believe (permanent separation of the North West and South West is possible) because I think both the North West and South West have a sense of Cameroonians and it is in the view of America to recognise the Integrity of Cameroon".
However, he went further to criticise the government's handling of the crisis and said sanctions will be compelled on Biya's regime  if they fail to have an inclusive dialogue.
