UB Students Called to be Servant Leaders on Mandela's Day Celebration.

University of Buea students have been called to uphold  Nelson Mandela's  values and principles in serving the community as the world at large celebrated Mandela's day.
This call was made at a seminar which took place at the UB Library on Thursday 18th July 2019 organised by Touching Lives International in Partnership with the YALI Network and the University of Buea, American Corner.
The first speaker, founder of Clean Water and Sanitation reinterated on the values and principles of a servant leader.  "Humility is not the chemistry of the face but content of the heart" is one of the quotes used by this presenter to emphasised on why  a servant leader is expected to be humble in serving while leading like Master Jesus his mentor.
Mr. Otto Molungu Litombo, one of the main speaker of the seminar continued  on why youths  should be servant leaders. He emphasised that Nelson Mandela who fought for South Africa's freedom is still celebrated after death because he was an icon and a servant leader.
According to him, a servant leader in few words is someone who serves his followers while leading. "Service to humanity and the society builds a solid foundation which the mansions of peace, capacity building and sustainability can be effective erected" is his quote on why servant leadership.
Reacting after the seminar, Founder and CEO of Touching Lives International, Mr. Che Herbert enthused that the seminar aimed at advocating for volunteerism in serving and creating awareness in the community. He added that they will have two days volunteer campaigns at St. Glory Orphanage at Molyko and Grace of God orphanage at Bonduma from Friday 19th to Saturday 20th July 2019.
At the end of the day, the participants we're satisfied and most of them concluded that their expectations were met. Keeping in mind that "Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others" by John Maxwell should be their motivating force in volunteering, serving and imparting communities.
