Anglophone General Conference; Anglophone Crisis should be solved by Cameroonians.

Conveners of the Anglophone General Conference led by Cardinal Tumi say the crisis hitting the  North West and South West regions of Cameroon is an internal affair and should be solved by Cameroonians.

This statement was made during a  meeting in Buea on Wednesday July 24 for a preparatory meeting. The Anglophone General Conference continued to decry the crisis which has brought untold sufferings to the population.

In a release, the AGC reiterated its stance on the crisis as it called on the government to release all those arrested and open a broad-based dialogue because the problem should be solved by Cameroonians.

The Anglophone General Conference reiterates its stance that, "the current crisis which is causing an existential threat to the country must be handled and led by Cameroonians because it’s a Cameroonian matter first and foremost".

The AGC feels any foreign meddiation must be done by a pool of countries and international organisations; “whose roles should be clearly defined as supervisory and guarantors of the implementation arrived at any dialogue or negotiation.

Conveners of the AGC equally condemned material destruction like the shutting down of Cameroon Development Cooperation ( CDC) and PAMOL in the South West Region which to them are some of the economic clampdowns of the war.

Despite the fact that AGC  denounces the prolonged closure of schools in the two restive regions, they failed to take a concrete stance on their position for schools resumption for the academic year 2019/2020 in the two Anglophone regions.
