Two girls of the same family have allegedly died due to food poisining in Bamenda, North West region of Cameroon.
The unfortunate incident occurred on the night of Saturday June 8, 2019 at Ngongham, a neighborhood in Mankon.
Reports say, both victims aged five and eleven went unconscious after consuming yogurt and other food stuffs sent to the family from Yaounde, by a yet to be identified individual close to the family.
According to Mimi Mefo Info, sources say the youngest victim died before arriving a private clinic in Alakuma, while the older one passed away shortly after she was taken to the hospital.
However, only the two deceased children were affected as other family members who consumed the food are in hospital and the sender has not been reachable on phone.
Nevertheless, the doctor confirmed that the two girls died of food poisoning though investigations are still ongoing.
