The meeting of International Partners and government for the coordination of emergency humanitarian assistance was led by the coordinator of the UN system in Cameroon, Allegra Biaochi on June 11, 2019 in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon.
The minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji presiding the meeting said that it is to lay down a new framework for better collaboration between the government and International Partners in the distribution of aids to victims of the socio- political crisis in the South West Region of the country.
The minister told the partners that for purposes of coordination, transparency and accountability, all aids must pass through the regional center for the coordination of the emergency humanitarian assistance.
Paul Atanga Nji also called on the partners to give accurate information to the organization on the situation on the ground, steps taken by the government in resolving the crisis at the level of distribution of aid.
Meanwhile, the governor of the South West Region, Bernard Okalia Bilai, who is the focal point of the regional services assured the partners that the center will be opened everyday.
The coordinator of the UN system in Cameroon disclosed that there are some 20 International Partners working to give aids to the Internally displaced persons complenenting government's actions.
However, the minister of Territorial Administration handed copies to the partners on the guidelines for the distribution of aids to the IDPs.
