A one-day restitution workshop on Gender, Peace and Conflict has been announced to hold this Sunday in the North West Regional Capital of Bamenda.
The restitution workshop takes place this Sunday 30th June, 2019, as from 11am at the Nkwen Baptist Centre Hall organized by Beacon of Light Association, BELA, in partnership with Hope for the Needy Association.
The training workshop organisers say falls in line with the goal to relay knowledge, skills and best practices gathered in the areas of Gender, Peace and Conflict, to other girls, women and men of communities in and around Bamenda, in a bid to join the drive towards Sustainable Development for all, especially in conflict stricken areas like the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon.
Four Major Training sessions including: Gender, Power and Conflict; Gender Based Violence in Conflict and Gender in Peacebuilding have been programmed.
In a release issued by officials of Beacon of Light Association- BeLA, young Girls, Boys, Women or Men based in Bamenda and its environs are encouraged to be a part of the restitution workshop.
“Each training session shall take a maximum of one hour thirty minutes, facilitated by Women Leaders who attended the HOFNA Workshop with main objective to relay the skills, knowledge and best practices relating to Gender, Violence and Peace, in a bid to empower young girls, women and men as key actors in fighting Gender-Based Violence and promoting Peace in our communities of the North West Region of Cameroon,” part of the release stated.
At the end of the training workshop organisers expect that 100 young people would have been equipped with the skills necessary to manoeuvre daily issues relating to gender inequality, violence and peacebuilding in the North West Region amongst other outcomes.
