Internally Displaced Persons in the City of Buea gathered today May 7, 2019 at the Buea Council to collect a consignment of materials send by the Minister of Territorial Administration.
It is worth noting that one of the IDPs, Agnes Malaba with the voice of other IDPs call on the government of Cameroon to resolve the deepening hitting Anglophone Crisis that has rendered them homeless.
According to her, they are grateful for these material gifts but they can't use them for the rest of their lives. What they want is the end of this crisis so that they can return to their homes and livelihood.
After a tense scramble to get registered in the morning, more than the supposed 200 IDPs succeeded to put their names on the list to collect items like Mattress, blanket, bag of rice, soaps and toilet rolls at the end of the day.
Coordinated by the Mayor, Ekema, speaking in pidgin-English to the beneficiaries, he assured the population that everybody will be reached out. He re- echoed on the fact that parents should call on their children in the bushes to drop their guns and get rehabilitated.
According to the Mayor of the Buea Muncipality, the message of the Head of State should be taken into consideration so that we have peace and development in our community.
