The Cameroon Business Forum chaired by the Prime Minister Chief Dr Dion Ngute blamed insecurity for the poor business climate in Cameroon.
Private sector entrepreneurs say the deteriorating business climate in Cameroon is caused by the slow and inefficient implementation of resolutions of successive editions of the Cameroon Business Forum and administrative setbacks.
Speaking at the opening session of the 10th edition of the Cameroon Business Forum that opened this morning in Douala Cameroon, experts say the inefficient Implementation coupled with other factors, has had devastating impact on the business climate and attractiveness
With regards to poor administrative policies, they cited tax policies, tariffs at the Douala and Kribi sea ports, administrative bottle necks and more as factors affecting the good business climate of Cameroon.
The private sector business operators largely describe the worsening security climate in Cameroon, notably in the North West and south west regions of the country as a the major counter element to the growth of the country's business climate. They say Cameroon's latest fall on the world doing business classification is largely due to the crisis in the North West and south west regions.
The economic stakeholders and government authorities are discussing betters strategies to improve the country's business climate.
