CHANGE IN PRICES OF FOOD STUFF (RICE) IN THE CAMEROONIAN MARKET


  The ministry of Trade and the Cameroon consumers network have redefined the prices of some basic food stuff on Cameroon, after reports of a hyper increase of the prices of such goods in Cameroonian market.

    Before the meeting between the minister of trade, Cameroon consumers network and economic operators of the rice sector,  rice vendors in the economic capital made a fool of buyers with prices.

    According to Mimi Mefo Info report, a 50 kg bag of rice sold at the Mboppi market 22 000 ( twenty-two thousands) francs cfa from the initial 17 000 (seventeen thousands) francs cfa on Wednesday March 20th 2019, witnessing an increase of 5000 (five thousand francs cfa).  Fresh fish in Mboppi also witnessed a surprising and unbearable to 1000per kg on 'marquereau'  a fish variety.

    Meeting in a consultative meeting in Yaounde on March 20th,  the ministry of Trade, alongside economic operators of the rice and finish importing sector, as well as the network of consumers in Cameroon,  decided as follows.

     330 FRS cfa For a kilo of broken rice in Douala and 350 for the same quality and quantity in Yaounde.
For the high quality rice, a kg will cost 425 frs in Douala and Yaounde.

    With regards to fish,  'marquereau' a variety moves from to 1200 francs per kg.
