New Digital System of Obtaining Passports in Cameroon goes Operational

The new digital or biometric system of acquiring passports goes operational today July 1st in Cameroon as announced by Dominique Baye, Cameroon's General Delegation for National Security.


The setting up of a new structure in Yaounde will be solely responsible for the granting of these passports, which will be delivered within 48 Hours  upon the applicant's submission,  with an electronic payment of FCFA 110,000 as the cost of ordinary passport via Mobile Money or by credit card.


The insurance procedure for any passport will be done in four stages. That is the online pre-enrol lment, the enrollment in a centre chosen by the applicant, the production procedure and the withdrawal process.





This digital system comes in place on the instruction of the Head of state after Mr. Dominique Baye signed a contract with Augentic Consortium for the implementation of a new Biometric passport production system.
